Setting up Dreamweaver

Macromedia Dreamweaver is a powerful WYSIWYG website development tool which is supported by all our hosting services. It offer an intuitive environment for building cross-platform sites that generates HTML code neatly and efficiently. Dreamweaver is a favorite of multimedia designers, since it easily integrates with other Macromedia applications, like Flash and Shockwave.

Pls Make Sure you have following information below before setup your dreamweaver !

  • FTP Host Name    :  www.yourdomain.com
  • Host Directory       :   /public_html
  • Login ID                 :   userID
  • Password               :   ******
    .
  • Default Page          : index.html

Special Note

  • Dreamweaver Web Site Pls Click Here 
  • The Host Directory Information will be Different for Different Server
    example below :
    http/html/                           : Linux Server 1
    /var/http/html/                   : Linux Server 2
    /public_html                     : Linux Server 3
    /www/                                 : Windows 2000 Server
    /httpdocs/                          : Windows 2003 Server
  • Not Sure which Host Directory, pls read the email first time we gave you or contact us !


 Start the Dreamweaver software and select "Define Sites..." in the Site menu.

 

 In the Define Sites window click "New...".

 

 In the Site Definition for Unnamed Site 1 window under the Local Info category, define your Site Name and click "OK". The Site Name is a name used to name this connection profile.

 

 Under the Remote Info category select "FTP" as your Access Method.

 

 Define your Site Remote Info as follows and click "OK".

FTP Host              : www.yourdomain.com
Host Directory     : /public_html                   <--pls make sure which Host Directory
Login                    : userID                            <--pls make sure which MemberID,
Password            : password

(passwords and IDs are case sensitive)

 

 Select "Open Site" in the Site menu and select your site which you've just defined.

 

This will bring up your site connection window.

 

 

 Select "Connect" in the Site menu to connect to your server.

 

 Once the connection with your server is established, you will see files listed under your Remote Site which represents the files on your server and files listed under the Local Folder which represents the files on your computer. To upload files from your computer to the server, select the files in your Local Folder and click the up arrow icon.
